«Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of productive agricultural ecosystems, which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of landscape and people, producing food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable manner." (Bill Mollison, 1988, Permaculture: A Designer’s Manual)»
Permaculture studies the relationships and patterns operating in nature and offers a design system based on three overarching ethics: caring for the earth, caring for people, and fair share (caring for the future), focused on restoring damage to natural systems and managing resources sustainably for the benefit not only of the human species but of all nature, always striving to work with nature rather than against it.
We believe that permaculture offers an alternative and a solution to many of the problems our planet and we ourselves are facing. It is a sustainable model that nurtures nature and enables us to meet all the needs we have as human beings.
In the flower of permaculture, we can observe all the areas in which permaculture is applied to foster a sustainable culture. Permaculture is also governed by three ethical principles: caring for the Earth, caring for people, and fair distribution.
